You should always trim the wick to 1/4-inch each time before burning your candle to prevent your candle from smoking a lot (creating soot). When you receive your candle it will always be the correct height to burn it, so this is for any other future burns.Ā 

It is also to prevent the jar from getting too hot, which can be unsafe. Make sure your wax is fully dry before cutting the wick!

- Keep the wick trimmed to 1/4" for a cleaner burn. A quick trim before lighting is recommended.

- First burn: Allow the wax to melt to the edge of the vessel. Normally 2-3 hours. This will prevent the candle from tunneling.

- Never burn the candle for more than 4 hours at a time. Allow it to fully cool before lighting again.
